On 24 October, reports revealed that the estimated cost of Pakistan’s under-construction Mohmand Dam had increased to approximately PKR 666 billion from its original approved cost of PKR 310 billion in 2018. Project documents indicated that around 57% of physical construction had been completed, with approximately PKR 275 billion already spent. The revised cost proposal was presented to the Central Development Working Party, which deferred consideration.
The project highlights the financial and technical complexity of large-scale water and energy infrastructure. Engineering firms and project authorities can explore opportunities in construction monitoring, hydrological modelling and infrastructure analytics. HPC can support data-intensive engineering simulations and project-management systems; contact HPC for a quotation tailored to your technical requirements.
