Figures reported on 19 October showed that Sri Lanka generated US$185.6 million in tourism earnings in September 2026, up 1.5% year on year. However, cumulative earnings for January–September fell 9.2% to US$2.245 billion compared with US$2.473 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.
Hotels, tour operators and hospitality-service providers can use these figures to review demand, revenue planning and seasonal marketing strategies. The US$185.6 million figure is national tourism revenue for September, not the revenue of a single hotel or a new hospitality contract.
