Summary <p>Dr Nasir Javed Urban Development Specialist PROFILE: Dr. Nasir Javed is an Institutional Development Specialist, with a specific focus on Integrated Sustainable Urban Development and sustainability, with more than 35 years of cumulative &amp; diverse experience as a civil servant and as an individual consultant. The hallmark of his career has been the founding Project Director / Chief Executive officer of the Urban Unit, at the Planning and Development Department, Government of Punjab. Dr Javed holds an MBA focusing ‘Public Private Partnership in Solid waste management’, distinctively passed from the University of Wales, Cardiff, UK, as a Chevening Scholar; while previously had degrees in Medicine, Psychiatry and Law from some of the most prestigious Institutions. Dr Javed has been a member of the Cities That Work council of the IGC; a Syndicate member of the prestigious University of Engineering &amp; Technology Lahore; a member of the editorial board of SAGE Journal, ‘Environment &amp; Urbanization Asia’, and has authored a number of conference papers &amp; book chapters in the development sector. Dr Javed has a wide international exposure and has participated in more than two dozen urban sector international conferences, trainings and seminars in countries across five continents. Since 2019, Dr Javed has been working as a free-lance consultant in the urban sector, with key contributions in the Water &amp; Sanitation and Waste Management projects.</p>
